Sanjana Kamath worked in the lab as a PhD student in Chemical and Biological Engineering. She completed her undergraduate degree at Case Western Reserve University, where she did research in Dr. Julie Renner’s lab designing and characterizing peptides to convert excess nutrients in wastewater into environmentally-friendly fertilizer. Her research in the lab focused on applications of hydrogels for enhanced geothermal energy and novel water-absorbent infrastructure materials. After the lab moved from Princeton to Caltech, Sanjana transitioned to working with Emily Davidson at Princeton.
Outside of lab, Sanjana is an avid outdoor adventurer, always searching for the next mountain to scale or scenic destination to explore. She also loves singing opera, with a secret aspiration to be a world-renowned professor who comes back from her University day job to evenings singing at the Met!
